Lawrence Halprin, landscape architect, studied the topography, weather, and vegetation that inspired the original master plan. For prototype buildings the architectural firm of Moore, Lyndon, Turnbull, and Whitaker was hired to design Condominium One along the bluffs and architect Joseph Esherick to design a cluster of houses nestled in a hedgerow. The visionary Al Boeke, architect, assembled a stellar group of architects and design professionals. ![]() You can also hold celebrations, events, and weddings at The Lodge or join us for unique Sea Ranch activities, art exhibits, and community experiences. ![]() Until then, you can enjoy “the heart of the community” at The Dining Room, The Bar & Lounge, The Café, The General Store, and The Links Golf Course. Highly anticipated, The Lodge guest rooms will be launched in the Summer of 2023. We’ve treasured welcoming friends and neighbors from near and far back to The Lodge. We celebrated the Anniversary of our reopening in October 2021. The aim to advance the early vision set forth and, as Lawrence Halprin once said, and be the “shining emblem of what a community can become.” Over the last 3 years we set about thoughtfully restoring the South Building to its original beauty and are in the midst of completing the renovation of the guest accommodations while passionately maintaining the vision and alignment of the beauty of this place. Respect for the land and the stewardship of it, sustainability for The Sea Ranch and beyond, as well as the desire to create a gathering place for all Sea Ranchers motivated them to make the purchase. ![]() In late 2018 The Sea Ranch Lodge was acquired with the intention to fulfill the vision of the original developer and group of architects. After serving its initial purpose, it was expanded into a hotel. It was designed to serve a central role as a cultural hub for the community, housing a post office, land sales office, and information center for new visitors. The iconic Sea Ranch Lodge, on a 53-acre property, is one of the oldest buildings at The Sea Ranch.
